(More customer reviews)My 10-year-old son ran the soles off his last pair of sneakers in the space of about six months.He didn't outgrow them, he just ran them to pieces, literally.Given his pace, this is about right.

So it was time to get a new pair.He wanted a pair of DCs, but what parent in their right mind would lay out $60 or $80 for a pair of shoes for a kid who is either going to wear out or outgrow new shoes in 6-8 months?The DCs are some very cool shoes, sure, with a ton of cool designs, but the prices are the showstopper.

And we happened upon these.They're DC-like skate shoes, with the right thick sole, thick laces and colorful-cool artwork to boot.(We're told it's Gorgeous George on the shoe, but none of these kids know anything about classic pro wrestlers; to me, it looks an awful lot more like a Viking God, with the lightning bolts missing.)They came in his size, and the price is outstanding.We got them in less than a week, and they were a huge and instant success with his 5th grade buddies and--this is an increasingly important factor--with the 5th grade girls.

The boy is wearing these all the time now, which means they'll likely wear out pretty quickly.But, with these shoes priced so well, I don't have a problem getting a new pair for him when that time comes.
